My Goals in Englcom (draft)

Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe says "First build a proper goal. That proper goal will make it easy, almost automatic, to build a proper you." We should build our goals to achieve what we want to accomplish in our lives. Even the most trivial subjects, such as English, can become a big asset to an individual. But what can we expect to accomplish in Englcom? There are several goals we wish to accomplish in Englcom.
One goal is to improve our writing skills. Everyone knows how to speak english but sometimes when they start writing the grammar, spelling, punctuations and other things to consider in writing are not properly observed. Not all good speakers are good writers, because even if they have good grammar when speaking, they might not know how to use punctuations or let alone spell. Another is to express oneself better in terms of writing. Especially in blogging we should know how to use punctuations, how to construct good sentences and how to use fitting words so that the reader could understand our message better. Lastly, the most important goal is to pass the subject. You can't graduate without passing a subject and this goal applies to all subjects.
English is a widely used form of language and most people know it. What we learn in englcom is not just english but how to use it and understand it. When getting a job there might be times when we are required to write about ourselves, so this is were your writing skills come to play. If you write a good paper and the reader understood it you will get accepted. But other than writing you should also know how to understand what you're reading especially if your job is filled with researches. If you were a scientist, you need to understand what you're researching in order to be able to come up with a precise conclusion. Also you have to evaluate sources well so that your information is correct.
There are many ways we can achieve these goals. You can have extra lessons before or after classes; it's good to have extra knowledge and to be prepared for the class. Another way is to always practice writing. The phrase: "Practice makes perfect." is not a theory but truth. You can do this by blogging or even writing in your diary. Lastly, we have to pass all requirements and this also applies to any subject.
English may seem like an easy subject but it is very important, not only now but for our future. We can use it to find work and we can use it for our work. But before we can succeed, we have to set goals and take action. These are our goals and we will be sure to achieve them.

K-pop (Diagnostic Essay)

K-pop is an abbreviation to Korean pop. It is a new type of music that has been popular lately. It's popularity can be notice through the growing number of music shows that air K-pop songs, and the number of concerts that are being held not only in its mother land Korea, as well as other countries in Asia such as Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Japan. There are also concerts of K-pop that are being held in European countries such as France, and also some part of U.S.A. like Los Angeles.
K-pop to foreign fans is like their door to Korea. Most K-pop fans start from watching Korean dramas or hear a Korean song that catches their ear. Some starts to like certain group and then slowly got to know other groups too. Other start by liking a particular drama or an actor or actress in a certain show. Although very rare there are also some who became fond of k-pop because of variety shows. Youtube is a part of a very large number where fans go to, to be able to see the Korean shows and music of Korean artists. Many are very curious to what K-pop fans see in K-pop song. Some K-pop fans, or rather a large number of foreign fans, don't even understand the Korean language. When asked fans would commonly answer that it has a very catchy tune and there are nice dance choreography that goes with the songs. Even though there is a language barrier the fans are able to enjoy the music or tune of the K-pop songs. As said earlier the K-pop songs are like doors to Korea for the fans because though growing fond of K-pop songs the fans would also like to learn about Korea's language as well as it's culture. The fans go from not knowing anything about Korea, to slowly learning about it.
To the K-pop fans, K-pop is not only a tune it is also a new section of knowledge and a source for fun and learning. Different from being a fan of something you know like when an English speaking person being a fan of American pop there is a bigger barrier. Although you are not required to learn the language but of course fans would prefer to know it. To some sense to be a little closer to their idols, and to be able to communicate with their idols when there would be a chance to. K-pop is a fun experience for K-pop fans because they are able to meet new friends that has the same interest as them. Some fans have cover groups and when their practicing the dance routines they are able to bond with their friend and learn something new at the same time. In this they also learn to be responsible since you have to go to practices and join in competitions where there are rules to follow.

K-pop fans are able to have fun and learn at the same time. Even though there are times where there would be questions to their fandoms, they are able to overcome it since they know or will get to know people that has the same fandom as them and would have some people that they can talk to about their fandoms and be understood.
